On Nov. 19, 2005, the world’s first Pu-erh tea college, LongRun Pu-erh tea College was set up in Yunnan Agricultural University by Yunnan Agricultural University and LongRun Group. LongRun Pu-erh Tea College is dedicated itself to training qualified specialists on tea technology and marketing. LongRun Pu-erh Tea College also recruits students from foreign countries, in order to develop international communication on tea knowledge and technology.
Yunnan LongRun Pu-erh Tea College will carry out basic research on Pu-erh tea, using data to explain the functions of Pu-erh tea to human health. LongRun Pu-erh Tea College is planning to construct new campus in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and abroad, in order to diffuse the Pu-erh tea culture throughout the world. It provides professional experts for this field. |

In order to fit in with the development of Yunnan tea industry and to make high-quality Pu-erh tea, with the approval of related department, Yunnan Pu-erh tea Research Institution was set up on Nov. 19, 2005 in Yunnan Agricultural University. And it is the only tea research institution in all Yunnan universities.
They also made progress in research on Yunnan tea tree resources, relationship between Pu-erh tea manufacturing skills and quality, content of Pu-erh tea, manufacturing of Yunnan large-leaf tea and the comprehensive use of tea. |
